December FOSB Events

We’ll edit this post as more FOSB events are confirmed.

After School ProgramsWinter Session
NEW DATE/TIME: Registration starts Wednesday, December 7 at 8 a.m.

Due to delays with some vendors, After School Program registration for Winter Session will open on Wednesday, December 7 at 8 a.m. (previously planned for December 5 at 8am). Apologies for the inconvenience, but we want parents to have all class information before registration begins. We expect all class info to be listed on our school’s 6crickets page by Monday evening. Please note that several new listings have been added over the weekend.

Full class descriptions, schedule, and cost can be found at the Salmon Bay 6crickets webpage.

  • Parent volunteers needed! We will need parent volunteers to run these classes. Being a volunteer gives you half or full credit for your student to take the class and a guaranteed spot! One parent may attend each class for the entire session, or two parents may share the position and each attend half the classes. To volunteer, please fill out this Signup Genius, filling your name in both slots if you want to be the sole volunteer, or one spot if you want to share it with someone.
  • Scholarships are available! Full or partial scholarships are available on a first come first serve basis depending on the cost of the class. Please complete this Google form to make your request. If you are able to be a parent volunteer, that is a great way to get reduced or full credit for your student to take the class!

Registration for winter after school programs will close at 9 p.m. on December 16.

FOSB Monthly Board Meeting
Thursday, December 15 at 7 p.m.

Our next board meeting will be held virtually. Look for the Zoom link in this month’s Weekly Bulletins.

Evening Lantern Festival
Friday, December 16 from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.

Bring your lanterns and your singing voices to Salmon Bay Park (not school) from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. to celebrate the start of winter break. As a special treat, our former Friday Sing leader and Salmon Bay favorite, Mary K, will join in the festivities to lead us in many of our beloved favorites! We hope to see you there.

A note for families who are newer to Salmon Bay: Our annual lantern festival is a beloved Salmon Bay winter tradition, typically held in two parts: the morning lantern festival is for elementary students and families and is held at the school during Friday Sing, while the evening lantern festival at Salmon Bay Park is open to all students and families.
